Off to Boston
Up and dressed by 3:30am for an early flight. Easy drive to SFO as we set off at 4am, but amazing how busy at that hour. Got there at 5am, dropped the car and had a huge line for security before we were able to settle for eggy breakfast. In mid-meal I found that Charlton had lost 2-1 at fucking Oxford, and then that our flight had been CANCELLED. Hardly able to finish my breakfast as Mick keen to get to desk and sort out – both thinking that maybe we head for home early etc. Calmed down, took out time, went to Alaska desk, got changed to a Delta flight at 12.25. Long time hanging around in airport, flight delayed again till 1:15 and we finally were airborne by 2pm. Played one game of crib in airport during which I managed to fail to score more than 8 in any hand or box, and needless to say I lost by a street. Reason given as bad weather in Boston.
Flight was fine, about 5.5 hours, plus 3 hours time gone, so after taxi to Airbnb in Revere we were knackered, having been up for 18 hours. House on Bellingham Ave is okay, not as good as it looked but all right. Lost the toss for bedrooms of course but Mick seems happy with his room and this one is fine if a bit near the street. No doubt it will all look better in the morning, when it is due to rain all day!!
